Community Guidelines

  1. Only those 18 years of age and older can use chem. If any account is found to be used by a minor, it will be removed immediately.

  2. Be honest and authentic. Each account should belong to one individual, identified clearly as the primary subject of all of their content. Others may appear in your samples, but you must always begin recording on the front camera with your face clearly visible. Any attempts to deceive other users as to your true identity will not be tolerated.

  3. All content should be made entirely on your phone. We do not allow uploads from any other source, and we do not tolerate attempts to circumvent this via hacking or recording a video off of another screen. This applies especially to AI-generated or digitally altered video including deepfakes of real people.

  4. No duplicate accounts. You should have one profile representing and controlled by yourself, and creating a second account to get around any access restrictions due to moderation will lead to a permanent ban.

  5. Respect boundaries. Chem allows for non-romantic connections, clearly labeled as such within the app, and any user manipulating this feature to romantically pursue someone who has only expressed interest in friendship may receive a suspension or permanent ban.

  6. Keep other users' content in the app. You are encouraged to export and share your own samples but do not screen record or otherwise capture content from anyone else. This includes chat messages and profile information. Sharing other users' content on any other channel to mock or judge them goes directly against chem's culture of experimentation and vulnerability, and it will not be tolerated.

  7. Do not upload explicit content. Violence, nudity, and otherwise disturbing material does not belong on chem. If you have to ask if it's appropriate, don't post it.

  8. Practice tolerance and inclusion. Any behavior seen as discriminatory including the use of slurs, stereotypes, or otherwise hateful language may lead to content removal, suspension, or a permanent ban. Protected characteristics include but are not limited to race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, and disability. Behavior that targets anyone based on these traits will not be tolerated.

  9. Be respectful in your interactions. Use the chat function to get to know your matches better and decide whether to meet, not to bully, intimidate, or harass them (especially sexually). If someone shares an opinion you disagree with, engage respectfully or ignore them/unmatch. Users have full discretion to unmatch or block anyone for any reason, and you must respect their choice to do so and move on. Make no effort to track down anyone who has chosen not to talk to you.

  10. Prioritize safety. Follow the safety tips and make an effort not to put anyone in a situation that makes them feel less than comfortable. Do not push them to share information or meet in a way that could compromise their sense of security. Remember that a stranger you met online has reasons to be skeptical and cautious, it isn't personal and it keeps everyone safe.

  11. No is a full sentence. Consent for any sort of interaction given in one context does not automatically apply to any future contexts, and you are not owed an explanation when someone tells you they have changed their mind. Any non-consensual behavior may lead to a suspension or permanent ban, and reports may be made for behavior that takes place outside of the app.

  12. No solicitation or explicit cross-promotion. Chem is about meeting people for friendship or dates and connecting on a human level, not for making sales or growing a platform. You may share social media links to further your connection but doing so just to gain followers will be seen as deceptive use of the app and may lead to a suspension or permanent ban.

  13. Chem is not a banking or payment app. Asking users for money, financial information, or proposing any kind of financial arrangement is strictly not allowed and may lead to suspension or a permanent ban.

  14. Be responsible with sensitive information. Anything personal another user shares with you including their address, workplace, or sexual orientation, should not be shared with anyone else without their consent. This applies to any intimate images or videos, and threatening to share this information or content will also be seen as a violation.

  15. Follow the law. If it's not legal, it's not allowed. Do not use the app to promote, buy, or sell anything illegal.

  16. Remember that everyone is here to express themselves, connect, and have fun. Be curious and compassionate in all of your interactions, and treat others the way you would like to be treated.

If you encounter any users violating these guidelines, report them in the app or by emailing info@chemdating.com.
